The latin name is Prunus cerasifera, much used in crossing of plum rootstocks. Can be quite tall if grown as a tree (ungrafted), over 8m. When grafted with a known variety onto the ultimate can be reduced to 5m.
It is suitable for virtually all soil types, especially heavy and poorly drained soils. Also very tolerant of drought conditions.
Can be used with Almond, Peach, Plum, Apricots and Netarines.
It is immune to the root knot nematode. It is self supporting.
