It will produce a dwarf tree up to 3.5m tall. Does well in most soils. It is very hardy and produces fruit in 2-3 years. Can be grown free standing but needs staking on windy sites. It doesn’t sucker much in the orchard.
The M25 rootstock produces a standard apple tree of around 6m height after 10 years or so, and is the best choice for old-fashioned traditional orchards. Can take 5 years to start producing.
M7 is very cold hardy, with a height in between M26 and MM106. The trees are well anchored and do not need a stake. They are resistant to fire blight, powdery mildew, and root collar rot.
It is self fertile and is a very heavy cropper. It is of medium size with an almost similar skin colouring to a Victoria. It is a cross of Oullins Gage and Early Favourite. When fully ripe it has a sweet gage type...
